The Country Shrink on July 21st, 2008

Once upon a time, long, long ago, before time, there was nothing.  Which as all scientists know, nothing is not really nothing.  Just a wee little empty void, but not truly empty.  The void did fluctuate before time existed.  It did it anyway…it found a way to fluctuate even though time didn’t exist.  And from this fluctuation of the void, there did arise a happy little singularity…about the size of a marble.  Now this little singularity couldn’t decide if it wanted to exist or not, so it popped in and out of existence.  Then one day, it decided to explode.  And explode it did!!!  After the explosion, there was too much energy for the normal laws of physics to exist that we know today.  All that existed was a bunch of photons (light).  Some of these photons became quarks, protons, and neutrons.  And these things began to form atoms.  And this is just the beginning of the tale…stay tuned for the next installment.

  1. I wish I could view the podcast, but I am disabled and poor, so I’m on dial up service and can’t run podcasts. Hope to get broadband within a year. Oh well!

It’s incredible, as your post makes clear, what man has tried to replace God with. Much of what I’ve written on the origins and evolution has been cynical, because I can’t treat something this out-of-whack with anything but disdain. For me, it’s much harder to buy into the scientific explanation than believe in God and creation.

I wonder-sometimes-how God wants us to respond to all of this, and then I read your blog and I begin to sense that we must speak out against the atheist’s lies about God and us. I’m reading many of your posts, just trying to catch up. I don’t comment on all of them, because I’m not always prepared to put into words what is on my heart and mind.

What do you think of this, “Quest for Right” site?

  2. Yeah, depending on where you live and your funds, Internet access greatly varies. I live it the sticks, so the only thing I have available is a “broadbandish” wireless connection that I get because I’ve done a lot of favors and technical consulting with the provider. Hope you’re able to get yours. It does make a big difference.

I just listened to an interview with Dick Dawkins, where he asserts basically the opposite (with no supporting evidence). It basically shows where his faith lies.

I really don’t know what to think of the Quest for Right site. I’d probably have to read his books. I can only say that I did not approve one of his comments, because I did not feel it was appropriate. So, until I can actually find the time to read some his textbooks, I’ll reserve judgment. I know he cut and pastes comments all over the net on various sites. But I’ll just leave it at that until I can say something in a more informed way. Maybe he’ll send me some books to review? You out there C. David Parsons?

  3. Thanks, I bookmarked the site, but haven’t checked it out yet.It just seemed like an advertizing ploy to me. I have a hard time dealing with Dawkins. I know I can be arrogant, and I don’t like that trait in me, but he makes me look like a beginner. Arrogance only leads to no communication, and for “tolerant” and “open-minded” humanists you would think they would be more open to rational and unconfrontational communication? Go figure;-)
